11."አባይ:ማደርያ:የለው:ግንድ:ይዞ:ይዞራል::" [="It has no place to sleep(rest), yet Abay (River Nile) roam with a log."]
Some times we try to help others while we have nothing and we are not capable of doing anything. People pretend and behave as if they can make a difference, but they know they can not do any thing. And the saying is rebuking such behaviours. Abay is always holding logs. But where will it takes them? It has no place to rest even to itself. So, you should not try to help others while you have nothing even for yourself and you are dependent.
12."ሁለት:ጉርጉርጉዋድ:ያላት:አይጥ:አትምትም::" [="A rat with two dens will not die."]
This one tells you to have back up options is very decisive in life. If you have two things to count on, you would make your life or goals certain, for you may pursue either of the options you created. A rat will hide in the nearest hole, if she has two, and thus, will make her life longer.
13."መርፌ:የራሡዋን:ቀዳዳ:ሳታይ:ብዙ:ጨርቅ:ትጠቅማለች::" [="Not looking its own hole, needle will sew clothes."]
This is to mean, you should not try to fill others gap, while you have your own to think about.
14"የአባይን:ልጅ:ዉሃ:ጠማው::" [="The son of Abay (River Nile) is thurst."]
This saying is told when someone is not having what they should have. While you are wealthy to be hungry, while you have Abay to be thursty for water.
15."የሠው:ፈላጊ:ራሡን:ያጣል::" [="Who find others will lose himself."]
If you are trying to get someone or something eagerly, you may forget about yourself. Those concerned with others deeply will not be good for themselves. Therfore, one must balance the two extremes, is the message.
16."ጦር:ሲመጣ:ዛቢያ:ቆረጣ::" [="When enemy arrive, to prepare axe"]
This whidly known saying is always blaming jobs done very late. To prepare an axe with wich you fight should have been made earlier. But, if you do that when your foes arrive it will be meaningless. Therefore, one ought to complete its task in the propriet time. e.g. "Though we are left with plenty of time, we should commence building the house by now. I fear it might become preparing an axe when the enemy arrive!"
17."ላለፈ:ክረምት:ቤት:አይሠራም::" [="For passed winter home will not be build."]
This is told to console those who are frustrated for what has happened or not. Winter is rainy season and you need build home as a shelter for the season. But, once that has gone, you should not worry about it. You cannot build home for the passed winter. Thus, why should you be irritated for it. You tell the saying when people are frustrated because of the past and unchangeable happenings.
18."ዉሻ:በቀደደው:ጅብ:ይገባል::" [="Hayna will enter through the way dogs penetrated."]
This one is told when someone do a job easily because others have already showed the way or method to do the job. One may complete a task without much difficulties because someone else have finished the taxing parts of the job. e.g. You are a police and have chased a robber for a long way. After you made him tired and incapable of running any longer, other fellow policeman caught him report (claim) he has caught a robber. You may, now, tell this saying to your boss:- "It was I who almost hold the robber. He caught him because I had almost finished the job. It's like haynas will enter through the way that dogs penetrated."
